Our Story
Most beautiful glass in the world is unsigned. It passes through a dozen hands, glows for a moment in a showroom, and is sold under someone else's name. We started Cask & Crystal to change one small part of that — to put a name to the craft, and the craft to your table.
Born in Firozabad
In a city most people have never heard of, India makes glass for the world. Firozabad has been a glassmaking town for generations — its furnaces burn through the night, and its artisans work molten glass by eye and by hand, the way it has been done for over a century.
We don't manufacture our pieces in a factory and call it craft. Every Cask & Crystal vessel begins as a glowing gather of molten glass, shaped at the furnace by people who have spent their lives learning its temper. The slight variations you'll find — the weight in the base, the clarity of the wall — aren't flaws. They're the signature of something made by a person, not pressed out by a machine.
Lead-free, always
Here's something the luxury glass world doesn't like to talk about: traditional "crystal" gets its weight and sparkle from lead. It looks stunning. It also isn't something we wanted in a glass meant to hold what you drink.
So we made a decision early, and it's non-negotiable. Every piece we make is lead-free — engineered to carry the brilliance and ring of fine crystal, with none of the lead. You get the drama without the compromise. We think that should be the standard, not the exception.
Shaped by hand
We work directly with the artisans and workshops of Firozabad, not through faceless middlemen. That relationship is the whole point. It means the people who shape your glass are paid and credited for a skill that deserves both — and it means we can stand behind every piece, because we know exactly where and how it was made.
To your table
Cask & Crystal is, in the end, a simple idea: handcrafted, lead-free barware that's honest about where it comes from. Pour something you love into a glass worth keeping.
